GetResponse just announced a new GetResponse Free plan.

One of my favorite things to do is figure out new ways to expand my business.

The best way that I have found to do this is by setting up an email marketing system.

I know how effective email marketing can be.

It helped bring this blog from 0 to over 500 visitors in its first 2 months online.

So today, I am going to show you how you can kick-start your blog or online business completely for free using GetResponse.

What is Email Marketing?

what is email marketing

Before we get into how you can use GetResponse, we need to make sure you understand what email marketing is.

Email Marketing is a broad term used to explain running campaigns by sending out emails to an email list.

So if you have an email list, instead of running ads, you can just send out well-written attention-grabbing emails to the people on your list.

You can activate autoresponders to trigger certain emails to be sent out when a visitor or customer does a certain action as well.

For example, have you ever done some online shopping and put an item in your cart, but then just left it there?

You may have gotten an email shortly after saying “oops, you forget to finish your purchase!”

Or something else along those lines.

That’s email marketing (autoresponder, to be more specific).

It can be a very powerful tool when it comes to getting leads, making sales, and getting people to come back to your website.

I have worked with Aweber, MailChimp, and GetResponse so I have been around the block when it comes to email marketing systems.

What is GetResponse?

what is getresponse

GetResponse is what we call an all-in-one marketing platform.

It has everything you need to help you start building your email list and growing your online presence.

We are talking everything from website builders to pop-up forms.

Sound too good to be true?

Take a look at some of the features that you can get with GetResponse:

  • Email Creator
  • Autoresponder
  • AI-powered website builder
  • Forms and Popups

  • Landing Pages
  • Sales Funnels
  • Live Chat solution
  • Web Push Notifications
  • SMS Marketing

And guys…that is not even the full list.

I did a full review of all of the features in another blog post so you can read more about it there.

How to Use GetResponse?

how to use getresponse

If you are just starting out, the number one thing that you are going to need to focus on is building your email list.

If you chose to use GetResponse then the main way to do this will be through signup and opt-in forms.

Which you actually have an unlimited amount of with GetResponse Free.

This is the best way to get your viewer’s attention on your website.

You can easily create forms and edit them to your liking with the drag-and-drop editor in GetResponse.

If you are using sites like WordPress then you just need to add a simple script of code on your site to get them working.

You can add this manually (into your header) or through the GetResponse plugin and you’re set!

GetResponse really does have a great list of tools available for digital entrepreneurs.

So you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that GetResponse now offers a Forever Free plan to new email marketers!

What is GetResponse Free?

what is getresponse free

On September 29th, 2021, GetResponse announced that they are officially offering a Free Plan for everyone with under 500 contacts.

No matter if you are a blogger, business owner, or affiliate marketer, you can sign up and start building your list with GetResponse completely free of charge.

According to their business page, GetResponse Free will offer a suite of free marketing software that will help you get your business on its feet.

Their hope is that you will grow your business with them and then eventually upgrade with them as well.

A very smart business tactic if you as me.

But…Is GetResponse Really Free?

Yes.

It is not just some 30-day trial we are talking about here (although they do offer that too).

It really is FREE.

As someone who started with the base plan that cost $15 a month, I was a little surprised.

To be honest I didn’t fully believe it.

To be fully transparent, I am currently using both MailChimp and GetResponse.

But I decided to create a new account with a new email address and see just how “free” it is.

How Can You Get GetResponse For Free?

All you have to do is sign up.

There is no “approval process” or lengthy review that needs to be done.

I signed up in a matter of minutes and didn’t even have to leave credit card information.

Email marketing is a POWERFUL tool.

For a beginner, hopping onto an email marketing plan completely for free is a great way to boost your online presence.

You can get started by heading over to their website or you can click the button below to get our free account.

GetResponse Free: What Features Do You Get?

Now we get to the nitty-gritty of this free plan.

Here are all the exact features that you can get with GetResponse Free.

Free GetResponse Website Builder

You can build 1 website using the GetResponse AI-powered website builder. It has predesigned templates and a very simple drag-and-drop feature.

You get 5 GB of bandwidth and you can connect 1 domain.

You will have access to their SEO tools to optimize your website for search engines and even get SSL certificates for website security.

Landing Pages

You can build and host 1 landing page on the GetResponse server.

They have a drag-and-drop landing page editor which makes the process super fast and simple.

Very beginner-friendly

Sign-up and Contact Forms

Convert website traffic with signup forms (en)

This is my favorite feature (and kind of the only one that I was really excited about).

You can make popup opt-in forms, inline forms, contact forms, ALL THE FORMS!

If you pair a lead generator with one of these opt-in forms you will see your email list start to grow in no time.

Space for 500 contacts

This is the obvious one.

You will be able to store, segment, and manage up to 500 contacts on your list.

For a small business or a beginner, this is a perfect size.

Once you grow a list this big, you are almost guaranteed to make a sale if you play your cards right and know your subscribers well enough.

So really study your subscriber’s actions in these first stages. What do they like, what emails do they open, do any of them unsubscribe and why?

Analyzing this data early will help you know what to do and what to avoid in the future.

Unlimited Email Marketing

This is a big one.

You can send broadcasts, emails, newsletters, and whatever you want an unlimited amount of times.

Now don’t go overboard.

There are some email marketing do’s and dont’s that you should follow so I highly recommend you look into those first.

Infographic - How To Build Trust With Customers In Your Email List

3 key points that you can learn from the infographic above are:

  1. Make sure you are as transparent as possible.
  2. Make your audience feel secure.
  3. Make it easy to unsubscribe.

The GetResponse email builder is very easy to work with and does a lot of this work for you. It will automatically enter your contacts details at the bottom.

Along with a very clear “unsubscribe” option as well.

You will also have a beautiful library of templates available to you to help you grab your reader’s attention.

Free Trial of All the Premium Features

I almost forgot to mention the best part.

You will get full access to all of their tools for a full 30 days when you sign up for the free account.

You get to test the waters and see if this platform can be something that you are interested in getting in the future.

What happens after the 30 days?

You go back to your regular free plan. No hassle.

GetResponse Pricing: How much will it cost to upgrade?

So you’ve used up your 30-trial and have been using the free plan. Now you have 500 contacts.

Should you upgrade?

YES.

You could choose to migrate to another platform, but sometimes it can be a bit of a hassle (hence the reason why I still have two platforms).

When you have a system that works, stick with it.

So I would recommend upgrading with GetResponse after you reach your 500 contact limit.

Trust me, you will be making sales by then if you play your cards right.

That being said: how much is it going to cost you?

GetResponses plans are based on subscriber count.

So let’s look at how much each plan is going to cost you for 1000 subscribers:

GetResponse Pricing for 1000 Contacts

As you can see, the prices are fairly reasonable and if you are serious about building your email list, this tool will end up paying for itself in a very short amount of time.

Final Note: My Personal Experience With GetResponse

GetResponse is one of the best platforms when it comes to email marketing.

Before I began my blogging journey, I made it a goal to be able to use GetResponse.

I had heard amazing things about it in the blogging community and a lot of people were seeing success with it.

Integrating the platform on my WordPress site was super easy and I was able to start building leads and give out my free tools the moment I joined the platforms.

You can make forms in a few minutes thanks to the wide variety of templates that they have.

Having an email list is one of those things that is overlooked the most by small business owners and bloggers.

Being able to use a great platform like GetResponse will give you quick results and boost you into your digital journey.

I had that exact same problem when I first started out and it had to do with the theme and theme builder that I was using.
I ending up removing the theme builder and choosing a new theme and completely redid my site.
But I am glad I did because it brought my website speed up a lot.

So definitely try changing themes to see if this helps 🙂
